End of Life planning

Planning for the future is an act of love and faith. Catholic Legacy is a free planning resource provided by the Diocese of Joliet for our parishioners to help prepare for important end-of-life decisions while reflecting your Catholic values and beliefs.
This easy-to-use tool guides you through creating or updating your will, organizing important personal and financial information, and documenting your wishes. It also provides resources to help you plan your Catholic funeral or memorial liturgy, giving your loved ones clear guidance and peace of mind during a difficult time.
When you have completed your plan, you will receive a printable PDF document that summarizes your information and wishes. We encourage you to sign the document and keep it in a safe place where your loved ones can easily access it when needed.
If you complete the funeral planning portion, please print the PDF and bring it to our parish priests. The document serves as a helpful starting point for your funeral planning. Some adjustments may be needed to ensure your wishes align with the Church's funeral rites, and your pastor will review the plan with you and discuss any additional details.
Catholic Legacy also provides an opportunity to consider leaving a legacy gift to your parish or other Catholic ministries as part of your estate planning. While there is no obligation to do so, many faithful Catholics choose to support the Church's mission as a lasting expression of their faith.
Taking the time to plan today is a meaningful gift to your family and a faithful way to ensure your wishes are known, giving both you and your loved ones greater peace of mind.
