Belize Mission Trip

In January 2027, a team of 40 parishioners from Maternity BVM will travel to Belize to continue our parish's mission of faith, service, and community outreach. Working alongside the people of Belize, our mission team will help build a home for a deserving family, assist at a local food pantry, and continue construction efforts on the church in Chunox, the hometown parish of Fr. Moises.

Throughout the week, mission members will visit local schools and present recorder instruments purchased through the generosity of Maternity BVM parishioners. The team will also deliver school supplies and personal care items collected through parish-wide summer donation drives. Three special collections will take place this summer, and all donated items will be brought directly to the communities we serve in Belize.

Additional outreach efforts include purchasing, sorting, and distributing food for the local food pantry, painting a village school alongside parents and community members, and leading a church music workshop at St. Francis Church in Corozal.

Earlier this year, the mission also benefited from a generous donation of new, unused sportswear from BSN Sports in Bourbonnais. These items were packed by Belize volunteers and parish family members and delivered to Belize in early June, where they were shared with those in need.

The impact of our parish's support extends far beyond a single trip. Donations from the 2025 Belize Mission Trip continue to fund the rebuilding of the church in Chunox, where Maternity BVM presented $10,000 to help the parish community restore and expand their place of worship.

We invite the entire parish community to be part of this mission through your prayers and generous donations. Your support directly enables these projects and allows us to serve, learn from, and build lasting relationships with our brothers and sisters in Belize.

Through prayer, service, and generosity, the Belize Mission Trip provides an opportunity to live our faith in action while building lasting connections and hope for the future.
