Upcoming Events

trunk or treat

Maternity BVM Parish will be hosting our very first Trunk or Treat.  Join us between 3:00pm-5:00pm for some treats, games, prizes, snacks and a haunted house for the little one's.  We are in need of parishioners to host parking spots to decorate their trunk and pass out candy.  We are also looking for our junior high and high school youth to volunteer at this event creating the haunted house and running the games.  If interested sign up here.

Undy Sunday - October 19th & 20th

Maternity is once again hosting Undy Sunday for Catholic Charities.  We will be collecting new underwear, undershirts, socks and diapers for children and adults.  


Game Night - Monday, October 14th

It's always on the second Monday of each month at 6:30 pm .  Come play board games and cards with us.  Please bring drinks and/or snacks to share.  Ages 21 plus. Undead Acres Trip - Friday, November 1st

Religious Education classes Start

Altar of Remembrance 

You are invited to bring a framed picture of your deceased loved one(s) to place on our altar of remembrance of our beloved dead during the month of November.  You can bring your framed photos to St. Viator Hall.  Please have your name and phone number on the back of the photo.  You may pick up your pictures after Masses on November 24th.

Harvest Sunday - November 3rd & 10th
We are looking for drivers and youth volunteers to help in this community wide effort in collecting food for local food pantry's for the winter months.  For more information click here and scroll down.
Holy Fire - Saturday, October 19th
All youth in grades 6th, 7th, 8th & Freshmen are invited to attend Holy Fire in Chicago with the youth ministry.  Click here for more information.
ARISE - Together in Christ - Small Groups
We will begin right after Labor Day We meet every week for 6 weeks Cost is $15. Some of you have already experienced meeting and sharing in small communities. For others, this may be a new experience. Small Groups come together, not just as a meeting or study group, but rather, we gather together in small Christian communities as a sharing group, open to the Spirit of God, seeking to grow in faith and in relationship with God and one another. Divorce Recovery - Sunday evenings
Those in need of rebuilding their life following an ending of any significant relationship are invited to register for this 9 week seminar to be held at Maternity BVM Parish in the Parish Center on Sundays from 3:30 - 5:30 pm September 8th through November 3rd. A book and workbook will be provided for you t no cost due to the generosity of an anonymous parishioner. All are welcome, all faiths, genders and ages. Fortitude Meals

The MBVM Fortitude Meal Committee has already delivered several meals to the local Fortitude Homeless Shelters.  If interested in joining this committee, contact Maria Pallissard at (815) 933-8285 ext. 226 or email [email protected]

Mom's Group - 2nd Thursday of the Month 

Be encouraged, ponder and pray together with other mothers, whatever your age.  We don't have the answers.  There's no RIGHT or WRONG way. We are on the journey together.  We will meet the second Thursday of each month, from 7:00pm - 8:30pm in the Parish Center.  Grab a friend and come, or come alone and make a friend.  For more information click here.

NEW Young Adult Choir - Ages 18-25ish

Young Adults, ages 17 – 30, are invited to sing once a month at the 11:00 Liturgy on the 2nd Sunday of the month. “Young Adult Sing” rehearsal is at 10:15, prior to Mass, in Viator Hall September - April.  If interested contact Chris Lord. 

Faith Buddies

Religious Education and Prayer for children and teens with special needs.The Parishes of Kankakee County have begun a Religious Education Program for children and teens with special needs. Come join us! There is NO COST for this program. Those with mild issues to severe disabilities are welcome. Please share with any families you think might benefit.  From: 9:30-11:00 a.m. Location: St Joseph Parish Religious Education Center, 207 S.
