Jingle Bell Run

The Jingle Bell Run is looking for youth volunteers (grades 6th - 12th) to assemble packets on Friday, December 6th at 6:00 pm.  Meet us in the Cavalier Room at Kankakee Community College at 6:00 pm.  To register for this service opportunity click here.

Spaghetti Dinner & Pancake Breakfast - FREE

Join us on the weekend of December 14th & 15th for a FREE spaghetti Dinner served by the Servants of the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and Mary, after the 4:30 pm Mass.  Likewise, there will be a FREE pancake breakfast Sunday, December 15th after all the Masses.  The Sisters from will be bring a Gift Shop full of wonderful gifts for you to purchase.  All donations benefit the Servants of the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and Mary.  Please join us!

Advent Calendars on Sale Now! $5

The MBVM Youth Ministry will  be selling Chocolate Advent Calendars out on the plaza after each Mass this weekend.  Calendars are only $5, and benefit the Youth Ministry.  If you would like a calendar reserved for you, contact Cassandra at [email protected] or (815) 933-8285 ext. 135

Maternity BVM Limited Edition Ornaments - $10

Special Edition Maternity BVM Ornaments will be sold for $10 by the Youth Ministry.  All profits benefit the Youth MInistry.  Ornaments will be sold after all the Youth Masses during Advent.  Youth Masses are each Sunday at the 11:00 am Mass in the month of December leading up to Christmas.  If you would like to order an ornament, contact Cassandra at (815) 933-8285 ext. 135 or email [email protected]

MBVM Women's Retreat - December 7th

We are excited to kick off the "Thankful and Blessed" Women’s Retreat here at Maternity.  Women off all ages are invited to come and "fill your cup",  Saturday, December 7th from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.  Lunch will be provided. Feast of the Immaculate Conception - December 9th

Join us for Mass at the regular morning Mass at 7:30 a.m. for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary.  This is NOT a Holy Day of Obligation, but daily Mass will be celebrated with music and Marian Hymns on this special Feast Day.

Inter-Parish Advent Series

Save these dates and plan now to gather together as we prepare for Christmas. Participants in the Inter-Parish Advent Series will use the Advent issue of The Word Among Us, which will be provided.  The series is facilitated by Sister Theresa Galvan, CND.  Meeting dates at Maternity BVM Parish will be Thursday mornings, December 5th, 12th & 19th from 10:00-11:00 a.m. in the Parish Center.

Adult Faith Formation during Advent - December 5th & December 19th

Our parish will offer 2 opportunities for Adult Faith Formation during Advent.  Each session will begin at 6:30 pm and will conclude by 7:45 pm.  We will meet in the Parish Library.  Thursday, December 5 - Questions and Answers on the Sacraments (especially Reconciliation) and Thursday, December 19th - Questions and Answers on the Bible.  Questions:  Contact Fr. MOSH Mission

Every other year Mosh has existed as a week long effort.  Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we are excited to announce that MOSH will continue throughout the entire year, every year!  This new ministry will be called "MOSH Mission".  A steering committee has been formed and will be moving forward with this new effort.  We will keep everyone in the parish informed of its progress.

Bishop McNamara Placement Exam - December 7th

Attention all 8th graders...the Bishop McNamara placement exam will take place on Saturday, December 7th at 8:00 am.  Registration opens at 7:30 am in the Bishop McNamara cafeteria and the exam will conclude by 11:30 am.  A pre-exam night will take place on Thursday, December 5th at 6:30 pm in the cafeteria, which includes an informational session for parents while students take a practice test in preparation for the placement exam.

You may pick up your pictures after Masses on November 24th.   

Divorce Recovery  
 
Divorce Recovery Intensive weekend will be held at Maternity BVM Parish Library, Feb. 28-29, 2020.  Friday, 6-9pm,  Saturday, 9-8pm, (including optional 4:30 Mass attendance). $50 registration includes textbook, Lunch  and dinner on Saturday.  Contact [email protected] to pre-register for this opportunity for healing from Divorce

Fortitude Meals

Mom's Group - 2nd Thursday of the Month 

Be encouraged, ponder and pray together with other mothers, whatever your age.  We don't have the answers.  There's no RIGHT or WRONG way. We are on the journey together.  We will meet the second Thursday of each month, from 7:00pm - 8:30pm in the Parish Center.  Grab a friend and come, or come alone and make a friend.  For more information click here.

NEW Young Adult Choir - Ages 18-25ish

Young Adults, ages 17 – 30, are invited to sing once a month at the 11:00 Liturgy on the 2nd Sunday of the month. “Young Adult Sing” rehearsal is at 10:15, prior to Mass, in Viator Hall September - April.  If interested contact Chris Lord. 

Faith Buddies

Religious Education and Prayer for children and teens with special needs.The Parishes of Kankakee County have begun a Religious Education Program for children and teens with special needs. Come join us! There is NO COST for this program. Those with mild issues to severe disabilities are welcome. Please share with any families you think might benefit.  From: 9:30-11:00 a.m. Location: St Joseph Parish Religious Education Center, 207 S.
