Harvest Sunday 2026

Harvest Sunday is the largest food collection drive in Kankakee County.
As a parish we help many food pantries in our area!
There are several steps so please read the following carefully:
- Part 1: Sunday, November 1, 2026 After signing up for a route in advance you will then follow your route on Nov. 1st. and put flyers in doors/on front porches (can do at any time that day)
- Part 2: Sunday, November 8, 2026 : Go back to your same route and pick up food left on porches by homeowners and bring those items to your assigned drop off location listed on your route (either MBVM Parish Center, or Bishop McNamara Catholic School Parking Lot). You should finish by 2:00 pm.
After signing up for a Route, here's what you need to do next:
- Complete the volunteer/permission form below (Adults & Youth). Drivers must also complete a Driver form which will be sent directly to each driver in early October.
- Pick Up your route packet with directions, map and flyers outside the Parish Offices on Thursday, Friday or Saturday, October 29th, 30th or 31st.
- Or if you would like to help in the Parish Center (sorting and organizing; Nov 8th only) below. Must be age 18+, or youth may help only if a parent volunteers as well.
- All adult volunteers 18 and over must have an updated online Virtus Account (see below) AND have taken the Protecting God's Children Class and a background check to volunteer with our youth.
