We are currently adjusting our plans for Religious Education. We want to be part of your life. We want to help you nourish your family’s faith life. Here are our current options:
In-person ONCE A MONTH - Religious Ed/Youth Group DISCIPLESHIP Program
Families will choose each month whether they want to attend the Sunday or Wednesday Evening, both 6:00- 7:30pm. The program will be similar to our Vacation Bible School Days. The evening will have a theme and will begin with a skit/presentation/music by our Youth Group. Students will take part in activities, discussions, crafts, game and, most importantly prayer. We feel gathering as a community to pray and have fun is very important part of our faith life.
If State and Diocesan regulations require us to discontinue in-class meetings, or if we cannot gather enough adults and teens to facilitate the program, we will video the presentations and skits and send all other materials for at-home use. We hope parents and teens will help once or twice a year in the crafts/game rooms.
All are required to wear masks and we will follow IDPH and Diocesan Social Distance Protocols.
In order to help this new program be successful, we hope parents will take turns volunteering with high school help in the craft and game rooms. Each family will receive a Children’s St. Mary’s Press Bible and additional take-home activities coordinated with the month’s theme.
- September’s theme is SUPERHEROES AND SAINTS. Students are invited to attend dressed as a SUPERHERO.
- Each month you will receive a link to SighUpGenius with that month’s choice of dates. Click here to go to our sign-up page with links.
- Our September dates are : September 20, 6:00-7:30pm and September 23, 6:00-7:30pm
Remote learning prayer and studies. We understand you may not be comfortable with your family attending our program in person at this time. We can provide you with a monthly packet for your family to work on together. Each family will receive a Children’s St. Mary’s Press Bible and activities, discussion, family prayer and crafts coordinated for the ages of their students. There will also be some videos of our teen presentations and teacher lessons.
*Students making their 1st Communion or Confirmation will receive additional information regarding classes.
